skyscrapers and really tall structures
Creating 3-dimensional structures as tall as they can be…
This session was all about structures. Connecting simple elements into complex 3D arrangements. We have compared the structures of London tall buildings and general principles and construction elements of tall buildings, including columns, beams, canntilevers and trusses.
During the session they were learning about balance, stability and importance of good teamwork.
Children experimented with various geometric forms, different connections, mastering their engineering skills to achieve a really tall results!
All teams engaged with enthusiasm and as our structures grew, the excitement did too!
The Young Engineers have achieved many geometrically stable designs.
It was amazing to note, that nearly each structure was different and individual approach to the challenge brought quite amazing results!
Well done everyone!
