The workshop theme was Bridges.
We’ve learned about different types of bridges, their structure, materials and how they work. We have looked at some beautiful bridge examples from around the word.
After a bit of theory we focused on practice and made our own bridges.
Young engineers realised that it is really difficult to draw some of the more complex designs, but persevered with enthusiasm nevertheless .
The results were great. We compared designs and named the type of construction that the bridge belonged to. We had girder, truss and arch bridges, cable-stayed bridges, suspension and even chain link bridge!
Construction process was very lively with lots of discussions, comparing designs and swapping ideas.
Well done everyone!
