Islington, 15 November – Zaha Hadid

It was a challenging workshop introducing to children amazing architecture of Dame Zaha Hadid.

An icon of neo-futurism, with a formidable personality, Hadid was the first woman to receive the Pritzker Architecture Prize (2004), the first woman to be awarded the RIBA Gold Medal (2015) in her own right and  awarded a Dame Commander of the Order of the British Empire 92012), Hadid was an extraordinary and visionary designer.

Children inspected the photographs of Hadid’s most famous projects and then proceeded to create a public use buildings of their own design.

Ranging from gallery, theathre to airport and a cinema, using materials with different textures and colours, the designs were truly awesome.

Great imaginative effort everyone!
