Mosaics. How can we create them? What are they?
Children have examined examples of mosaics, from ancient Greece, Rome, Morocco to modern ones, including some examples from London City and tube stations. They have learned how mosaics are created and where they can be used. We talked about how to make tessellated patterns using repetitive elements, geometric shapes and irregular ones.
After theory came practical creation of patterns and designs. Children created vivid arrangements of colours and designs.
