Lanterns

The workshop was about learning differences between translucent, transparent and opaque materials.

Children have experimented, how using this knowledge we can create different effects with light and colour and shapes. They have used different cutting tools and techniques to create their designs.

They all looked fantastic!

Transparency is the physical property of allowing light to pass through the material without being scattered.

Translucent is permitting light to pass through but diffusing it, so that objects and shapes on the opposite side are not< clearly visible.

Opaque is not transparent or translucent; impenetrable to light, doesn’t allow the light to pass through.
