We had a great start of the summer term, learning about various techniques of copying, or transferring images from original pictures onto our drawings.
Children have used carbon copy paper to transfer shapes of their chosen pictures or patterns, then coloured them in. It was challenging at first, as they had to follow the lines of the picture without seeing the immediate effect. And you had to remember to put the carbon paper the right way!
We have learned, that similar effect can be achieved colouring the paper with STABILO Woody 3-in-1 pencils and then trace through it, achieving a colourful copy!
Another technique was using tracing paper. That was easier, as you could see through it!
Kids have also tried to scale shapes, using grid paper, a simple technique to enlarge or shrink a drawing in proportions.
We have achieved quite precise and complex traces. With a bit of effort, even the most complicated drawings have been copied with ease. Well done!
