Skyscrapers A 1-2

First session this year started with an enthusiastic Year 5 classes from Avenue Primary from Newham, London,  E12.

Children have learned about origins and transformation of  Docklands area. We compared structure and materials used for Museum’s traditional warehouse to the modern buildings surrounding it.

Kids have taken a challenge of constructing the tallest structure. They set of in teams, learning about balance, stability and good teamwork. As the structures grew, the excitement did too!

Final results were quite complex and impressive. We haven’t beaten the record height, but managed to get pretty close and the structures were pretty robust and stable with some interesting spatial arrangements. Few teams have joined forces together, merging their structures into something entirely different…
