3D Pocket House

3D folding house

Creating 3-dimensional houses that can fold into a flat pack…

We were constructing 3-dimensional houses that can fold into a flat pack…

Kids have learned how to construct a “room” consisting of two walls and a floor, from a sheet of paper. Connecting several rooms together created a house.  Folding the floor diagonally across,  allows the design to be folded into a flat pack, that can be put in the bag or pocket and taken with you on a trip.

We have left the last corner to be fastened with masking tape or paperclip, allowing the folding and unfolding.

Children came with lots of interesting ideas as to what rooms they wanted in their house and what they could be furnished with. Some cut out doors inter-connecting their rooms, or added windows to look outside. Some houses had foldable tables, beds, hidden cupboards and fridges or … swimming pool (with trampolines)!

Adding second floors, roofs, doors and outside space we have achieved quite sophisticated dwellings!

Well done everyone!
